After a long stint of making good and bad jingles for TV, I needed to experiment and open up - mostly with my recording techniques and my Serge Modular. Thick tone clusters and building sounds from scratch were all important lessons for me, learned from the Serge. I did have a kind of “let the sounds lead me” attitude then. I was making sounds I’d never heard before and I was amazed. Of course I eventually found the other creators of this music and learned enormously from them as well.
I did like to edit tape.
Tuned Space literally meant my Serge was sculpting the air with sound waves.
I loved these new sounds.
